Xavier 閳?The Lightbringer

Balanced. Reliable. Universal. Xavier is the operative you bring when you don't know what you're facing 閳?and he'll handle it anyway.

ElementLight
RoleMain DPS
Difficulty
OverallS Tier

Core Identity: Xavier is the "never wrong" pick. Light element has no hard counters 閳?no boss in the current rotation fully resists Light. His kit is built around consistent burst windows with low cooldowns, making him forgiving for new players and rewarding for veterans. He works in every team composition and every content type.

Skill Breakdown

Stellar Burst (Active)
Fires a concentrated Light projectile that deals 280% ATK. On hit, generates 1 Light Sigil (max 3). At 3 Sigils, next Stellar Burst consumes all Sigils and deals 500% ATK. This is Xavier's primary damage loop 閳?build Sigils, consume, repeat. The 500% burst hits harder than most Ardent Oaths.
Radiant Step (Mobility)
Short-range teleport that leaves a Light afterimage. Afterimage explodes after 1.5s dealing 150% AoE damage. Use this for both positioning and extra damage. The explosion radius is generous 閳?aim it at groups in Bounty missions.
Light's Judgment (Ultimate)
Deals 800% ATK as Light damage to all enemies in a large AoE. Grants team +20% ATK for 10s. One of the strongest ults in the game for both damage and utility. Synergizes with every resonance pair.

Recommended Memories

Stellar Contract (S-Tier): 40% ATK buff on skill use. This is Xavier's best memory and arguably the best in the game. Priority pull.
Light's Guard (B-Tier): Defense-oriented. Only use if you need survival for specific boss fights.
Memory Recommendation: Stellar Contract + any ATK-boosting sub-stat memories. Xavier scales linearly with ATK 閳?every point matters.

Best Teams

Best Partner: Sylus (Twilight Resonance). Xavier's consistent damage + Sylus's execute covers all phases of a boss fight.

Alternative: Zayne (Crystal Resonance). Defense shred + burst. Safer but slower.

Abyss Role: Team A main DPS. Xavier handles the hardest floor reliably.

Playstyle Tip:The Sigil management loop is Xavier's entire damage identity. Don't waste Stellar Burst without max Sigils 閳?the 500% nuke is 80% of his damage. Use Radiant Step to close distance and generate Sigils, then unload.

Sylus 閳?The Shadow Reaper

High risk, highest reward. Sylus punishes low-HP enemies with ruthless efficiency 閳?if you can get them there.

ElementDark
RoleExecutioner / Finisher
Difficulty
OverallS Tier

Core Identity: Sylus is an executioner. His entire kit revolves around dealing bonus damage to enemies below 50% HP. In the right hands, he shreds Abyss boss floors faster than any other operative. In the wrong hands, he struggles to get enemies to the execute threshold. He requires a partner who can handle the first 50% of the fight.

Skill Breakdown

Shadow Strike (Active)
Deals 250% ATK. If target is below 50% HP, deals 450% ATK instead and heals Sylus for 30% of damage dealt. This is the execute button. The 200% damage bonus below 50% HP is what makes Sylus S-tier. Timing this with resonance bursts creates impossible-to-survive damage windows.
Veil Step (Stealth)
Becomes invisible for 2s. Next attack deals 200% ATK and applies Vulnerable (damage taken +15% for 5s). Use this before Shadow Strike for 650% ATK total + vulnerability debuff. This is Sylus's burst combo.
Dark Harvest (Ultimate)
Deals 700% ATK to all enemies. Enemies below 30% HP are instantly executed (cannot reduce boss HP below 5% 閳?but deals massive bonus damage). The execute threshold on trash mobs is one of the strongest wave-clear tools in the game.

Recommended Memories

Twilight Oath (S-Tier): Execute threshold +15% (triggers at 65% instead of 50%). This is transformative for Sylus 閳?it makes his execute mechanic active for most of the fight instead of just the second half. Priority pull.
Shadow Step (B-Tier): Mobility memory. Niche use. Only if you need extra survivability.
Memory Recommendation: Twilight Oath + ATK + CRIT DMG substats. Sylus scales hard with crit because his execute can crit.

Best Teams

Best Partner: Xavier (Twilight Resonance). Xavier handles the first 50% HP, Sylus executes the rest. Perfect synergy.

Alternative: Rafayel (Infernal Resonance). Burn DoT helps chip enemies into execute range. Sustain from healing keeps Sylus alive.

Abyss Role: Team A or B. Sylus needs a strong partner to soften targets. Don't put him on a team with a weak support.

Playstyle Tip: Never open with Sylus. Let your partner deal the first 50% of the enemy's HP, then tag in Sylus for execute. His Veil Step + Shadow Strike combo is the highest single-target burst in the game 閳?save it for the execute phase. Don't waste it on full-HP enemies.

Zayne 閳?The Frost Warden

Control is damage. Zayne doesn't kill the fastest 閳?but he makes sure you survive long enough to kill everything.

ElementFrost
RoleCC Support / Sub-DPS
Difficulty
OverallA Tier

Core Identity: Zayne is the best support in the game. His freeze mechanic stops enemies from acting, which is invaluable in Abyss floors with multiple elites. His personal damage is lower than Xavier or Sylus, but the CC he provides enables his partner to deal 30-50% more damage by creating safe DPS windows. He is not a carry 閳?he is the reason your carry can do their job.

Skill Breakdown

Frost Bolt (Active)
Deals 200% ATK and applies Frostbite (slow 30% for 3s). If target is already Frostbitten, consumes it to Freeze for 2s. This two-step CC loop is Zayne's core identity. Apply Frostbite, then reapply to Freeze. Time this with enemy attack patterns to cancel dangerous abilities.
Glacial Barrier (Defense)
Creates a shield that absorbs 400% ATK for 5s. Enemies attacking the shield are Frostbitten. This is the best defensive skill in the game. Use it to protect your team during boss enrage phases or heavy AoE windows.
Permafrost (Ultimate)
Deals 500% ATK in a large AoE and Freezes all enemies for 3s. Frozen enemies take +25% damage. This ultimate has relatively low damage but the +25% damage taken debuff makes it one of the best setup tools in the game. Pop Permafrost before your partner's ultimate for massive damage amplification.

Recommended Memories

Permafrost Covenant (A-Tier): Freeze duration +2s and freeze spreads to nearby enemies. This turns Zayne's single-target freeze into AoE CC. Best support memory in the game.
Frost Barrier (B-Tier): Shield memory. Extra survivability for specific boss fights. Niche.
Memory Recommendation: Permafrost Covenant + HP/DEF substats. Zayne's value is in CC, not damage. Build him tanky so he can survive while applying freezes.

Best Teams

Best Partner: Xavier (Crystal Resonance). Xavier's burst benefits from Zayne's freeze windows and defense shred.

Alternative: Rafayel. Zayne freezes, Rafayel burns. Not a direct resonance pair, but freeze + burn creates safe DPS windows for Rafayel's AoE.

Abyss Role: Team B or C support. Zayne makes any team safer. Put him on the floor you're struggling to survive.

Playstyle Tip: Zayne's freeze does more damage over time than his frost bolts. A frozen enemy that can't attack is an enemy that can't kill your DPS. Prioritize Frostbolt timings over raw DPS. If you can chain-freeze a boss for 6+ seconds, you've contributed more than any damage-dealer could in that window.

Rafayel 閳?The Inferno Artist

Burn everything. Rafayel trades single-target precision for unmatched wave-clear and sustained damage over time.

ElementFlame
RoleAoE DPS / Burn Stacker
Difficulty
OverallA Tier

Core Identity: Rafayel is the fastest clearer in the game. His burn mechanic deals damage over time that stacks, making him exceptional against groups of enemies and bosses that spawn adds. His weakness is single-target burst 閳?against a single boss with no adds, his damage falls behind Xavier and Sylus. He excels in Bounty missions, story stages, and Abyss floors with wave mechanics.

Skill Breakdown

Flame Strike (Active)
Deals 220% ATK in a cone and applies Burn (40% ATK per tick, 3 ticks over 4s). Burn stacks up to 3 times. At 3 stacks, burns explode for 300% ATK. This is Rafayel's damage loop 閳?stack burn, explode, restack. Against groups, a single Flame Strike can ignite multiple enemies simultaneously.
Blaze Dash (Mobility)
Dash forward leaving a trail of fire that deals 80% ATK per second to enemies in the path. Use this to reposition while maintaining damage. The fire trail is excellent for controlling enemy movement in Abyss arenas.
Inferno (Ultimate)
Deals 600% ATK to all enemies and applies 3 stacks of Burn (max explosion). Instantly triggers burn explosion on all affected enemies. This is Rafayel's best ability 閳?it frontloads all burn damage and applies max stacks simultaneously. Use it when enemies have 2+ burn stacks for maximum efficiency.

Recommended Memories

Inferno Waltz (A-Tier): Burn damage doubled and spreads to 2 additional targets. This transforms Rafayel from good AoE to god-tier AoE. Priority if you use him as main clearer.
Flame Dance (B-Tier): Dodge-recovery memory. Extra survivability. Useful for players still learning boss patterns.
Memory Recommendation: Inferno Waltz + ATK + Elemental Mastery substats. Rafayel's damage is burn-based 閳?Elemental Mastery increases burn tick damage.

Best Teams

Best Partner: Sylus (Infernal Resonance). Burn chips enemies into Sylus's execute range. The healing from Infernal Resonance keeps both alive during extended fights.

Alternative: Xavier. Xavier's burst covers Rafayel's single-target weakness. Not a direct resonance pair but functional.

Abyss Role: Team B or C. Rafayel excels on add-heavy floors. Don't put him on single-target boss floors.

Playstyle Tip: Don't spam Flame Strike. Wait for burn stacks to build before exploding them. The 3-stack explosion deals 300% ATK 閳?using it at 1 or 2 stacks wastes 50-66% of its potential. Track burn stacks visually (the enemy glows brighter per stack). In groups, tag multiple enemies first, then use Inferno to detonate all at once.

Investment Priority Summary

First SSR? Xavier. Safest investment, works everywhere, easy to build around.

Want to min-max Abyss? Sylus. Highest ceiling, hardest to play, highest reward.

Struggling to survive? Zayne. His freeze solves 90% of survival problems.

Farming efficiency? Rafayel. He clears dailies and Bounty missions 2x faster than any other operative.

The Bottom Line: There is no "wrong" operative 閳?each fills a distinct role. Xavier is your all-rounder, Sylus is your boss-killer, Zayne is your enabler, and Rafayel is your clearer. A balanced account levels all four and deploys them based on the content. Build Xavier first for safety, Sylus second for damage, Zayne third for support, and Rafayel fourth for speed. But no matter who you invest in 閳?build them well, and they will carry you through the Deepspace.
