ELITE BOSS 閳?ABYSS FLOOR 12

Phantom Xavier

The mirror fights back. Phantom Xavier copies your skills, punishes your habits, and forces you to master the one opponent you can never predict 閳?yourself.

ENTRY_#114 2026.06.29 ELITE_BOSS

The Core Insight: Phantom Xavier is a mirror boss. It uses the same skills as playable Xavier 閳?Stellar Burst, Radiant Step, Light's Judgment 閳?but on a corrupted AI that reads your inputs. If you play predictably, it counters you. The key to this fight is breaking your own patterns: vary your approach timing, bait the phantom's skills, and punish the cooldowns.

Boss Overview

Phantom Xavier is a Light-element humanoid boss encountered in high Abyss floors and the deepest Orbit stages. It is a corrupted copy of Xavier that uses his entire kit against you. Unlike other bosses with fixed attack patterns, Phantom Xavier's behavior adapts to your playstyle 閳?making it one of the most challenging fights in the game for players who rely on muscle memory.

Attack Pattern Reference

Stellar Burst (Copy) PROJECTILE

Tell: Phantom charges a Light orb in its hand (1s glow). Same animation as Xavier's Stellar Burst.

Behavior: Fires a single homing projectile dealing 180% ATK. If the phantom has 3 Sigils (glowing aura), the burst deals 350% ATK and explodes in a small AoE.

Dodge: Side-dodge at 0.3s after the orb leaves its hand. Do not dodge early 閳?the projectile tracks and will correct.

Counter: The phantom is stationary during the cast. This is your safest attack window. Use Sylus's Veil Step + Shadow Strike while it's locked in the animation.

Radiant Step (Copy) MOBILITY

Tell: Phantom flickers and leaves a golden afterimage. Same as Xavier's teleport.

Behavior: Teleports behind you or to the side. The afterimage explodes after 1.5s dealing 150% AoE damage. The phantom often follows with a melee slash.

Dodge: After the teleport, immediately dodge forward (toward where the phantom was). The afterimage explodes where you were standing. If the phantom teleports behind you, dodge through it.

Counter: Rafayel's Flame Strike covers the area where the phantom lands. Pre-place the AoE and let the phantom teleport into it.

Sigil Accumulation PASSIVE

Behavior: Like playable Xavier, the phantom generates Light Sigils (max 3) each time it uses Stellar Burst or Radiant Step. At 3 Sigils, its next Stellar Burst is empowered (350% + AoE). The Sigils are visible as glowing rings around its body.

Strategy: Track the Sigil count. When the phantom has 3 Sigils, do not commit to long attack animations 閳?it will empowered-burst you. Bait the empowered burst and dodge, then punish during the cooldown.

Light's Judgment (Ultimate) ULTIMATE

Tell: Phantom raises both arms, Light coalescing in a sphere above its head. 2s cast time. Arena-wide golden flash.

Behavior: Deals 600% ATK to all enemies in the arena. Cannot be blocked. Grants the phantom +20% ATK for 10s.

Dodge: This attack cannot be dodged 閳?it's arena-wide. Use Zayne's Glacial Barrier or Rafayel's Blaze Dash (iframes) to survive. The important thing is to not panic 閳?the damage is high but survivable with full HP.

Counter: After the ultimate, the phantom is exhausted for 2s (no attacks). This is your best burst window. Use all cooldowns.

Mirror Combo ADAPTIVE

Behavior: This is what makes Phantom Xavier unique. After taking 3+ consecutive hits from the same skill type (e.g., you use 3 melee attacks in a row), the phantom adapts: it gains a 0.5s parry window and counters with a 200% ATK slash.

Strategy: Alternate your attack types. Mix melee, skills, and ranged. If you play like a bot (same combo every time), the phantom will parry you every time. Vary your rotation deliberately.

Phase Transitions

Phase 1 (100%-60% HP): Uses Stellar Burst and Radiant Step only. No ultimate. Manage Sigils and practice dodge timing. This phase is about learning the rhythm.

Phase 2 (60%-30% HP): Gains access to Light's Judgment (ultimate). Uses it once per 30s. Sigil generation speed increases by 30%. The phantom becomes more aggressive 閳?shorter delays between attacks.

Phase 3 (30%-0% HP) 閳?Enrage: Phantom enters "Corrupted Light" mode. All attacks deal +40% damage. Radiant Step leaves TWO afterimages (double explosion). Stellar Burst always fires in a spread of 3 projectiles. Mirror Combo triggers after 2 consecutive same-type attacks instead of 3. This is the true test of your adaptation skills.

Recommended Team

Sylus (Main DPS)

Why: Dark element is the boss's weakness (+30% damage). Sylus's execute mechanic is particularly effective against the phantom 閳?the mirror boss has lower defense below 50% HP. Veil Step + Shadow Strike combo hits hard during the phantom's cast animations.

Memory: Twilight Oath (S-tier). The +15% execute threshold keeps you in bonus damage range longer.

Rafayel (Sub-DPS)

Why: Infernal Resonance with Sylus provides healing (10% of damage dealt) 閳?crucial for surviving Light's Judgment and enrage phase. Rafayel's AoE burn ensures the phantom takes damage even during its teleport phases.

Memory: Inferno Waltz (A-tier). Burn spread and damage increase.

Alternative: Zayne (Support)

Why: Freeze trivializes the mirror combo. A frozen phantom cannot parry, cannot teleport, and cannot generate Sigils. Bring Zayne if you're struggling with the adaptation mechanic 閳?freeze locks the phantom in place and lets you attack freely.

Memory: Permafrost Covenant (A-tier). Extended freeze duration.

Advanced Tips

Tip #1 閳?Bait the Teleport: Phantom Xavier's Radiant Step triggers when you're at medium range (not close, not far). Stay at mid-range intentionally, dodge the teleport, and punish. This is more reliable than chasing the phantom around the arena.

Tip #2 閳?Count Your Hits: The Mirror Combo triggers on your 3rd consecutive same-type hit. Count to 2, then switch. Melee 鑴?2 閳?skill 閳?melee 鑴?2 閳?skill. This simple rhythm completely neutralizes the phantom's parry.

Tip #3 閳?Save Burst for Post-Ultimate: The phantom's 2-second exhaustion window after Light's Judgment is your highest-value damage window. Do not use Ardent Oath or resonance burst outside these windows. Save everything for the post-ultimate punish.

Tip #4 閳?Enrage = Defensive Play: In Phase 3, the phantom deals 40% more damage and attacks faster. Switch to a defensive mindset: dodge first, punish second. The enrage is a damage race only if you can survive it. Most players die because they try to DPS through the enrage instead of surviving through it.

Dodge Timing Summary

Attack Direction Timing
Stellar Burst Side 0.3s after orb leaves hand
Radiant Step (teleport) Forward (toward phantom) Immediately on teleport
Radiant Step (explosion) Any direction 1.3s after teleport
Empowered Burst (3 Sigils) Double side-dodge 0.2s after orb leaves
Mirror Counter Backward Instant (cannot react 閳?alternate attacks to prevent)

Common Mistakes

Mistake #1: Fighting on autopilot. Phantom Xavier punishes muscle memory harder than any other boss. If you use the same rotation every time, the mirror combo will parry you every time. Deliberately vary your attack patterns 閳?the phantom can't adapt if you don't repeat.

Mistake #2: Ignoring Sigil count. A 3-Sigil empowered burst deals 350% + AoE. If you're mid-animation when it fires, you're dead. Track the glowing rings around the phantom. When you see 3, stop attacking and prepare to dodge.

Mistake #3: Wasting burst outside post-ultimate windows. The phantom's 2-second exhaustion after Light's Judgment is the only guaranteed safe damage window. If you use your ultimate during normal combat, the phantom can teleport away or parry it. Save everything for the punish window.

Mistake #4: Not bringing Dark element. Phantom Xavier resists Light (-20%). If you bring Xavier against Phantom Xavier, you're fighting a mirror match with a 20% damage penalty. Sylus (Dark) deals +30%. That's a 50% damage swing from one team choice.

The Bottom Line: Phantom Xavier is not a DPS check 閳?it's an adaptation check. The boss punishes repetitive play and rewards players who vary their attack patterns. Track Sigils. Alternate your combo types. Save burst for post-ultimate windows. Bring Sylus (Dark weakness). And remember: the mirror doesn't beat you 閳?your own habits do. Break your patterns, and you break the phantom.
